Overview
The AI Voice Engineer will play a critical role in developing and optimizing AI-powered voice agents for customer interactions in a fully remote capacity. Working within a collaborative data and AI team, the contractor will leverage their expertise to implement scalable voice AI solutions while focusing on user experience and technical performance. This position is part of an ambitious AI transformation initiative aimed at enhancing service delivery and innovation in voice technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and build AI-powered voice agents for real-world applications.
- Develop and integrate voice pipelines using leading speech and conversational AI technologies.
- Build and maintain Python-based services to support conversational workflows.
- Enhance voice latency, realism, and overall user experience.
- Evaluate and recommend architectural approaches for scalable voice AI deployment.
- Establish a long-term framework for voice AI that balances performance and compliance.
Requirements
- Strong experience in production-grade AI voice or conversational AI systems.
- Commercial experience with technologies like Azure Voice, ElevenLabs, or Deepgram.
- Proficient Python engineering capabilities within a production environment.
- Experience with real-time conversational systems and voice SDKs.
- Solid understanding of speech-to-text and text-to-speech integrations.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to regulated industries or customer-facing AI solutions is a plus.
