Overview

The Analytics Engineer will contribute to a significant cloud data transformation program for a leading travel company. This role focuses on optimizing data pipelines and facilitating cloud-driven insights, while also ensuring effective communication with non-technical stakeholders through documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team dedicated to modernizing data platforms and enhancing customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a BigQuery/Snowflake-based data warehouse, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Develop and optimise ELT pipelines, leveraging Snowflake best practices for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Enhance performance and optimize queries to ensure cost-effective and high-performing workloads.
  • Work with dbt and Airflow to transform raw data into structured datasets for analytical consumption.
  • Create clear documentation to communicate technical processes to non-technical teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and provide analytical support.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with BigQuery/Snowflake and its ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data modelling and transformation within BigQuery/Snowflake.
  • Experience with dbt to develop scalable data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of ELT processes and best practices for cloud-based data architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimisation in BigQuery/Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and their integration with Snowflake.
