Overview
This role is for an experienced Android Developer who will serve as the lead technical resource in a large-scale mobile transformation project. The candidate will work closely with engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders to guide the technical direction of both Android and iOS mobile applications, ensuring high standards in architecture and engineering practices while remaining hands-on in development. The position emphasizes technical leadership and collaboration in delivering secure, scalable mobile solutions for the public sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction for native mobile engineering teams.
- Shape mobile architecture and establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Remain actively involved in Android development while supporting overall mobile capabilities.
- Collaborate with architects, delivery teams, and stakeholders to define technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership and collaborative development processes.
- Address complex engineering challenges within a major digital transformation program.
- Influence the technical direction by balancing long-term architecture needs with project delivery.
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance (must already hold live clearance).
- Strong commercial experience in Android development (Kotlin).
- Familiarity with iOS development (Swift/SwiftUI) is a plus.
- Experience in designing scalable mobile architectures (e.g., MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
- Proficiency in mobile engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and mentoring developers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Consultancy experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
