Overview

The Array Cables Termination & Joint Inspector will oversee the quality assurance and inspection of jointing and termination of high voltage and fibre optic cables in offshore settings. Working as the client's representative, this role involves ensuring compliance with technical and IEC standards, conducting inspections, and facilitating communication among various teams to guarantee that operations are conducted safely and efficiently. The position is based on a rotational schedule of four weeks on-site followed by four weeks off, with mobilization planned for August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the client's representative for inspection and quality assurance of cable jointing and termination at site.
  • Inspect cable systems and ensure compliance with project requirements and IEC standards.
  • Perform QA/QC inspections of termination work and witness testing such as VLF and OTDR.
  • Review T&T-related documentation to ensure compliance with Risk Assessment Method Statements.
  • Prepare Daily Progress Reports and update progress tables as required.
  • Interface and communicate effectively with construction and installation teams on site.
  • Ensure availability of calibrated test equipment and safe execution of cable activities.
  • Manage non-conformance reports and lessons learned during the offshore phase.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of offshore experience with valid certifications for working as a Jointer for 66-kV connections.
  • Compulsory certifications include GWOs, Offshore Medical, Advanced First Aid, and Firefighting.
  • Desirable training includes HV/MV jointing and testing, as well as safe work environments in substations.
  • Proficiency in cable jointing/termination and knowledge of relevant IT tools and procedures.
  • Fibre optical cable termination experience is preferred.
