Overview
The Technical Lead will play a pivotal role in the delivery of a cloud-based data platform utilizing AWS and Databricks for a major transformation project within the pharmaceutical industry. This position involves both technical leadership and hands-on work, collaborating closely with engineering teams and customer stakeholders while mentoring engineers and promoting best practices in data architecture. The role requires regular meetings in London and occasional international travel to work directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of a cloud-based data platform on AWS.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of Databricks.
- Design and promote Medallion Architecture best practices.
- Translate AI use cases into scalable, production-ready data products.
- Work closely with customer stakeholders to define strategy and build the case for future project phases.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership throughout delivery.
Requirements
- Strong experience leading data platform or data engineering programmes.
- Deep knowledge of AWS and Databricks.
- Experience designing modern data architectures, including Medallion Architecture.
- Ability to bridge technical and business conversations, particularly around AI use cases.
- Comfortable being hands-on while leading a delivery team.
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated environments is beneficial.
