Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer for a 6-month contract role focused on enhancing our infrastructure and operational processes within a fast-growing fintech environment. The contractor will work closely with our development team to implement infrastructure as code practices, optimize systems, and improve security and observability solutions. This role is integral to supporting our innovative financial products and ensuring a seamless user experience for our large user base.
Responsibilities
- Refine and enhance infrastructure as code using Terraform and CI/CD processes.
- Support developers in implementing ongoing changes to the system.
- Foster a culture of infrastructure as code through appropriate tooling.
- Review and enhance existing security measures for the AWS environment.
- Collaborate with the development team to implement application-level observability solutions such as CloudWatch or Datadog.
- Optimize AWS infrastructure to reduce operational costs.
- Manage the smooth operation of EC2 instances.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture principles.
- Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of best security practices for AWS environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and Datadog.
- Experience with serverless architecture and AWS Lambda.
- Proficiency in Linux administration and basic shell scripting.
