Overview
The AWS Security Platform Architect will be responsible for designing, building, and enhancing secure AWS environments in a regulated Financial Services context. This hands-on role requires collaboration with stakeholders to implement security best practices and governance frameworks within AWS. The contractor will leverage extensive experience in AWS security services and Infrastructure as Code to ensure robust cloud security.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure AWS environments following best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish governance frameworks for cloud security.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for security implementations.
- Develop and enhance AWS identity management and access controls including least privilege principles.
- Establish threat detection and network security measures to safeguard cloud assets.
- Advise stakeholders on AWS Well-Architected Framework and security strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience with AWS security engineering and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience with AWS services such as Control Tower, IAM, KMS, and CloudTrail.
- Understanding of security governance and best practices in regulated environments.
- Certification in AWS Certified Security – Specialty preferred.
- Familiarity with Data Sovereignty and secure data handling practices.
- Ability to advise on security best practices from a cloud architecture perspective.
