Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms and modern cloud data solutions on Azure. The contractor will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish architecture frameworks, governance policies, and optimize performance while ensuring data integration aligns with best practices in data management. This is a remote position open to professionals based in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design enterprise data platforms and modern cloud data solutions using Azure.
- Establish governance frameworks for data architecture and integration.
- Optimize performance of data solutions and implement data integration processes.
- Utilize Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Databricks for cloud solutions.
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and manage data modelling and optimization.
- Ensure Azure security, networking, and role-based access protocols are in place.
- Lead cloud migration efforts and the design of large-scale data platforms.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in Azure Data Architecture.
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Databricks.
- Deep understanding of Delta Lake, Medallion architecture, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and Spark, with a focus on data modelling.
- Experience with Azure security, networking, and monitoring setups.
- Demonstrated capability in cloud migration and large-scale data platform design.
