Overview
The Azure Fabric Data Engineer will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining advanced data platforms utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services. This position, which offers both contract and permanent opportunities, focuses on developing data ingestion pipelines, creating Lakehouse architectures, and ensuring data governance and quality. The engineer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders and contribute to enhancing analytics capabilities within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Microsoft Fabric data solutions, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Notebooks.
- Develop robust data ingestion pipelines from APIs, SQL databases, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 sources, SaaS platforms, and flat-file sources.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes to cleanse, transform, validate, and structure customer data for analytics and AI use cases.
- Create Lakehouse and medallion-style data architectures, including raw, curated, and reporting-ready layers.
- Design data models that support Power BI dashboards and operational reporting.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services and modern cloud data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, and Power BI.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced working with relational data models.
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark for data transformation and automation.
- Understanding of data governance and access control principles.
