The Azure / Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining modern data platforms, focusing on Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services. This role will require collaboration with various stakeholders to develop robust data solutions and architectures, ensuring data is prepared for analytics and AI-ready use cases. The position offers both contract and permanent opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Microsoft Fabric data solutions, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows, and Pipelines.
  • Develop robust data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources, including APIs and SQL databases.
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes to structure and cleanse customer data for analytics.
  • Create Lakehouse architectures to facilitate raw and reporting-ready data layers.
  • Design data models that support Power BI dashboards and operational reporting.
  • Implement data quality checks and governance controls to maintain data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and integration challenges.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and deployment notes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure data services and cloud data engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouse and Dataflows.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational data models.
  • Experience with Python and/or PySpark for data transformation.
  • Understanding of Power BI and data governance practices.
  • Experience building data pipelines from multiple source systems.
  • Knowledge of APIs, JSON, CSV, Parquet, and enterprise data formats.
  • Desirable certification: Microsoft DP-203 and/or DP-700, or equivalent experience.
