Overview
The Azure Solutions Architect will play a key role in delivering secure cloud-based solutions for a major Defence modernisation programme. This position involves collaborating closely with technical teams and stakeholders to design and assure scalable solutions while ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices. The architect will contribute to technical decision-making and support design governance within a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end solution architectures for cloud-based services and platforms.
- Produce and maintain high-level solution designs and supporting architectural documentation.
- Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical, scalable solution designs.
- Ensure solutions align with architectural standards, security requirements, and governance processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support during design reviews and implementation.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Solution Architect within Azure cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of solution architecture principles and cloud-based design.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise solutions.
- Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience producing architecture documentation and presenting design decisions.
- Good understanding of security considerations within solution architecture.
- Experience working within structured delivery environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Active SC Clearance is essential.
