Overview
We are looking for an experienced BCBS 239 Implementation Consultant to join a financial services client for a three-month hybrid position. The consultant will support an ongoing implementation program aimed at enhancing data governance, risk aggregation, and regulatory reporting in compliance with BCBS 239 principles. This hands-on role requires a proven track record in regulatory change within complex financial institutions, particularly in the Risk, Finance, or Data domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the delivery of BCBS 239 compliance initiatives.
- Work across Risk, Finance, and Data functions to implement data aggregation frameworks.
- Define, document, and operationalise data governance policies and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess data architecture maturity and identify gaps.
- Contribute to the design of data management frameworks, including metadata and stewardship models.
- Develop management information (MI) and dashboards for regulatory reporting.
- Provide subject matter expertise on risk data aggregation and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- Proven BCBS 239 implementation experience in Tier 1 or Tier 2 banks or regulatory consultancies.
- Strong understanding of risk data aggregation, data governance, and reporting frameworks.
- Background in Financial Services Regulation with exposure to PRA/FCA, Basel or EBA programmes.
- Solid grasp of data management principles (e.g. DAMA, EDM Council, DCAM).
- Experience collaborating with CRO, CFO, and Data Office functions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for translating requirements into delivery.
