Overview
We are seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineer to support and maintain crucial Avid production systems in a fast-paced media environment. The contractor will work closely with production and technical teams to troubleshoot and enhance workflows, ensuring the reliable delivery of content. This role involves hands-on support for editors and production teams within critical broadcast settings.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain Avid editing and production platforms across operational and project environments.
- Troubleshoot complex workflow, application, and infrastructure issues affecting editorial and production teams.
- Manage and support shared storage, media movement, and project workspace environments.
- Assist editors, dubbing mixers, and production users in time-critical scenarios.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
- Collaborate with production, operational, and technical stakeholders to ensure reliable content delivery.
- Support engineering changes, platform upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience supporting Avid editing environments in broadcast, post-production or media operations.
- In-depth knowledge of Avid Cloud UX, Avid NEXIS, Avid Media Composer, and Avid Pro Tools.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro within professional production environments.
- Strong understanding of shared storage platforms and editorial workflows.
- Proven experience in supporting both end users and back-end platform components.
- Familiarity with media formats, codecs, transcoding, and audio/video synchronization.
- Experience in live or near-live production environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
