Overview
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst / Consultant with a strong background in the utilities sector, particularly in energy, gas, and water. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in engaging with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, producing high-quality documentation and supporting the implementation of business solutions. This hybrid position will involve working from the office, client sites, and remotely, primarily focusing on projects throughout England.
Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand, analyse, and document business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions across multiple business functions.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), User Stories, and Gap Analyses.
- Analyse current and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the design and implementation of business and technology solutions.
- Assist with change management activities and business readiness planning.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure delivered solutions meet business objectives.
Requirements
- Experience within energy retail, distribution, transmission, water, or gas organisations.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and market frameworks.
- Experience with smart metering, customer transformation, billing, asset management or operational systems.
- Familiarity with digital transformation, cloud migration, or system implementation projects.
- Relevant professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis, CBAP, or Agile BA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
