Overview
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst specializing in data to support a large-scale cloud data transformation program for a global enterprise. This role involves collaboration with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical deliverables within Agile teams. The successful candidate will join a consultancy focused on delivering high-quality data solutions, contributing to modern data platforms and enterprise-scale data products.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
- Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria and support Definition of Done.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects and stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Analyse complex datasets using SQL to support business decisions and data validation.
- Define data mappings, business rules and transformation logic.
- Support large-scale data migration and modernisation programmes.
- Ensure solutions align with data governance, security and GDPR requirements.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies within Scrum/Kanban delivery teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Data Business Analyst.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Experience delivering data warehouse, analytics or enterprise data platform projects.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in Agile environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data governance, security and GDPR principles.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Snowflake, Apache Kafka, or similar technologies is advantageous.
