Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst for a 3-month contract position to support a major financial services client in a regulatory compliance and assurance transformation programme. The contractor will primarily work remotely while engaging with business and technology stakeholders through occasional travel to Central London. This role focuses on assessing and documenting the data landscape, evaluating data quality, and helping to shape requirements for future implementations.
Responsibilities
- Assess and map data sources, flows, structures, formats, and refresh frequencies across multiple systems.
- Evaluate data availability, quality, and suitability for AI-driven regulatory compliance solutions.
- Identify barriers to data access, including technical, commercial, and operational challenges.
- Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements for future-state data solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and engage with subject matter experts to understand current processes and data dependencies.
- Document findings, recommendations, and requirements to support transitions from design to implementation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Data Analyst or Data-Focused Business Analyst within Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, quality, and sourcing concepts.
- Experience working on regulatory, compliance, risk, or data transformation programmes.
- Ability to operate effectively in a consultative environment, helping shape and challenge requirements.
