Overview

The Business Intelligence Lead will play a crucial role in a major data transformation programme by defining and implementing a modern analytics strategy across the organization. This position involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to enhance enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities, moving towards a more scalable and self-service model built on trusted data products and clear governance frameworks. The contractor will lead a team of BI professionals and influence strategic decisions that impact the future of data consumption in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the BI and analytics strategy within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Lead the transition from tactical reporting to product-led, enterprise-scale BI solutions.
  • Design and implement semantic models and reusable reporting frameworks.
  • Create a self-service analytics capability that empowers business users while maintaining governance and control.
  • Establish reporting standards, KPI definitions, and data quality frameworks.
  • Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and architecture functions.
  • Lead and mentor BI professionals to build a high-performing analytics capability.

Requirements

  • Experience leading BI or reporting functions within large-scale data transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of modern BI architecture, semantic modelling, and self-service analytics.
  • Deep expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and data modelling best practices.
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms and medallion architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
  • Experience in implementing governance frameworks covering metrics, reporting standards, and business definitions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership teams.
