Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to contribute to the design and implementation of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects within the water sector. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop civil engineering designs while ensuring adherence to industry standards. This long-term contract offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, requiring regular attendance at the office while working on essential services projects.
Responsibilities
- Produce, review, and develop civil engineering designs for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Prepare design calculations, technical drawings, and specifications in line with industry and regulatory standards.
- Support feasibility assessments and provide early-stage technical input.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
- Ensure designs account for buildability, cost efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
- Manage and coordinate design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during construction, addressing design queries and RFIs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design methods and engineering processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Civil Design Engineer within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sector.
- Strong proficiency in civil design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MicroDrainage.
- Sound understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, and pumping stations.
- Strong technical reporting and drawing production skills.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently while engaging proactively with stakeholders.
