Overview
The Civil Design Engineer will play a critical role in delivering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure water projects within the Yorkshire Water framework. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and oversee the full design lifecycle from feasibility studies to construction support, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and client specifications. Responsibilities
- Deliver civil design solutions across water infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure assets.
- Design pipelines, pumping stations, storage tanks, and treatment works and associated civils.
- Produce and review technical drawings, reports, specifications, and calculations.
- Support feasibility studies, optioneering, and detailed design stages.
- Ensure compliance with UK water industry standards and client requirements.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
- Contribute to design risk assessments, reviews, and value engineering exercises.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases where required.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in the UK water sector (infrastructure or non-infrastructure).
- Strong understanding of water industry standards and delivery processes.
- Experience with relevant design software (e.g. Civil 3D, AutoCAD, InfoWorks, MicroDrainage or similar).
- Ability to work across multiple project stages and manage technical delivery.
- Strong communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Chartership or working towards chartership (desirable).
