Overview
We are looking for a Civil Field Engineer to manage and ensure the quality of civil activities on a significant energy infrastructure project. This role involves working with contractors and site management teams to ensure that all civil works comply with National Grid standards and project specifications while fostering a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify civil construction works on site to ensure compliance with design and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to meet project quality requirements.
- Liaise with contractors and site management to resolve technical issues.
- Review and approve civil engineering documentation including method statements and test results.
- Support the safe delivery of site activities in accordance with HSE standards.
- Report progress and quality observations to the Project Manager and Quality Lead.
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in National Grid projects in a field-based civil engineering capacity.
- Strong knowledge of National Grid technical specifications and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficient in setting out using Total Station.
- Competent in managing quality control on site.
