Overview
The Civil Supervisor will oversee daily on-site operations for a major infrastructure project within the energy sector. This role involves supervising civil works, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting project management efforts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the construction of grid infrastructure and will play a key role in promoting a safe working culture while delivering project objectives efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site activities for all civil works on a large-scale grid infrastructure project.
- Coordinate and oversee site operatives and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and quality expectations.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards and permit-to-work systems.
- Support Site and Project Managers with site coordination, progress reporting, and contractor management.
- Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks to promote safety culture on site.
- Monitor progress and workmanship to ensure delivery aligns with project specifications.
- Complete and maintain all necessary site documentation and progress updates.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics teams to coordinate resources effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor on grid or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of civil construction activities associated with grid infrastructure.
- Experience with National Grid, DNO, or HV infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of HSEQ procedures, RAMS, and safe work systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a strong site presence and drive work forward proactively.
- Relevant certifications and qualifications in civil construction or related fields.
