Overview
The Cloud Engineer will join a public sector organisation's IT Infrastructure and Cyber Team in a hybrid role, primarily focusing on the design, build, and optimization of AWS Cloud Infrastructure. This position requires hands-on implementation skills, where the engineer will take ownership of platforms and workloads, driving continuous improvement across their AWS estate while collaborating with development teams.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure for AWS environments.
- Design and implement automation processes for cloud operations.
- Take ownership of platforms and workloads post-migration.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the cloud estate.
- Configure and support monitoring of cloud services.
- Support CI/CD processes across multiple development teams.
- Interact with end users for support via face-to-face or remote tools.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams on project requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supporting enterprise solutions on Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and best practices.
- Experience with Azure Front Door and Azure Application Gateway.
- Ability to configure and support Azure Monitor.
- Experience with traditional Windows Infrastructure, including AD, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Familiarity with project team dynamics and workflows.
- Comfortable with interpersonal interactions in support scenarios.
