Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to join a major secure cloud transformation programme within the UK public sector. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage resilient networking solutions for a Google Distributed Cloud environment, ensuring optimal performance for mission-critical services. Responsibilities
- Design and implement resilient cloud and hybrid network architectures.
- Configure secure site-to-site connectivity, VPNs, and private interconnects.
- Manage VPCs, routing, peering, and IP address management (IPAM).
- Deploy and maintain load balancing and private DNS solutions.
- Design and secure Kubernetes (GKE) networking, including network policies and Istio Service Mesh.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance using flow logs and observability tooling.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and supporting complex cloud or hybrid networking environments.
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud networking concepts, including VPCs and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with Kubernetes networking (GKE) and service mesh technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work within secure or highly regulated environments.
- Active SC Clearance is essential.
- Experience delivering secure cloud infrastructure within government or defence environments is desirable.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and GitLab is a plus.
