Overview
The Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the commercial management of large-scale data centre projects across Europe. The position entails close collaboration with senior operational and commercial teams to ensure successful project execution and optimal financial performance, including full oversight from procurement to final account. Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of major data centre construction projects.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor management and contract administration.
- Manage project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow.
- Negotiate and agree subcontractor accounts and variations.
- Work closely with project delivery teams to maximise commercial performance.
- Prepare and present commercial reports to senior stakeholders.
- Manage risk and ensure contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support and mentor junior commercial team members where required.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects.
- Previous experience with Tier 1 Main Contractors preferred.
- Data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or major infrastructure project experience advantageous.
- Strong contractual knowledge, particularly JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to relocate and work on projects across Europe.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction-related qualification.
