Overview
We are seeking a Network Commissioning Engineer to join our Project Engineering team on a 6-month contract. This role focuses on providing expert technical support, network design, and implementation leadership in high-profile environments, playing a crucial role in delivering complex network solutions and ensuring positive customer outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in enterprise networking and work closely with project teams to enhance the overall network delivery process.
Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd line technical support within a specialist engineering environment.
- Review and validate implementation plans from Project Engineers.
- Design, build, and deploy network solutions.
- Create detailed configuration scripts across multiple network vendors.
- Support complex customer network changes, including risk assessments and post-change validation.
- Analyse network topology, circuitry, and infrastructure requirements.
- Update network databases and maintain accurate circuit information.
- Provide technical leadership to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven industry experience within a technology/networking environment.
- CCNA or CCDA certification (one acceptable).
- Strong Cisco networking background.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage technical teams, customers, and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Experience in LAN & WAN design and implementation.
- Familiarity with PDH/SDH concepts and telecommunications networks.
- Desirable: CCNP/CCDP certification and experience in large enterprise, ISP, or carrier environments.
