Overview
The Commissioning Engineer will oversee onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe and compliant testing, specializing in Siemens PLC and SCADA systems. This role involves leading a test team for a 6-month contract and requires collaboration with various parties to achieve accurate results during the commissioning process.
Responsibilities
- Review commissioning documentation and Safe System of Work to ensure compliance.
- Supervise onsite commissioning activities and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
- Coordinate with other work parties and attend site planning meetings.
- Apply, record, monitor, and manage Temporary Commissioning Aids.
- Identify defects or unexpected system operations and escalate issues as necessary.
- Halt commissioning activities in case of uncertainty or incidents and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC, TIA Portal, and SCADA systems.
- Strong background in testing and onsite commissioning.
- Excellent health and safety awareness, with SSSTS or SMSTS certification preferred.
- CSCS card or equivalent is essential.
- Good understanding of control panels, electrical installations, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with Industrial Protocol Knowledge such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and OPC is desirable.
