Overview
We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join a major transformation programme in the higher education sector. This contract position, requiring 2-3 days of work per week, will primarily be remote with some occasional meetings in London. The selected candidate will collaborate with various academic and professional service teams to create and implement effective communication strategies that enhance stakeholder engagement and support organisational change initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a cohesive communications strategy for the transformation programme.
- Prepare high-quality, university-wide communications including announcements, newsletters, and intranet content.
- Manage multi-channel communications across various platforms to ensure message consistency.
- Build strong relationships across the university to facilitate timely and accurate information flow.
- Coordinate messaging across multiple concurrent projects and maintain a forward-looking communications plan.
- Monitor feedback and engagement to refine communication approaches.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Communications Manager in complex organizations, preferably in higher education or large transformations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex information.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and capability to work confidently with senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within tight deadlines.
- Experience producing communications for large, diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.
