Overview
The Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project, overseeing construction activities from pre-construction through to commissioning and project handover. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the project meets quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints, while also maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the safe and successful delivery of a major hyperscale data centre project.
- Manage construction delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including Project Managers, Site Managers, and Engineers.
- Oversee construction planning, programme management, quality assurance, and risk management.
- Chair project progress meetings, providing updates on programme and construction progress.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction challenges to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements and industry best practices.
- Work closely with commissioning teams to facilitate a smooth transition through commissioning and IST.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager on hyperscale or mission critical data centre projects.
- Previous experience with a Tier 1 contractor or specialist data centre contractor.
- Strong knowledge of CSA, Mechanical and Electrical installation and commissioning.
- Experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams and project budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proactive and delivery-focused approach suitable for complex projects.
