Overview
The Consultant Data Privacy role is a contract position focused on integrating privacy assurance within product development. Working closely with Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams, the consultant will translate privacy principles into actionable technical controls, ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR. This position emphasizes collaboration across multiple disciplines to operationalize privacy-by-design and develop automated assurance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Translate privacy policies into actionable, testable specifications for engineering workflows.
- Conduct technical impact assessments on tracking technologies and data flows.
- Audit technical designs, SDKs, and vendor integrations for privacy compliance.
- Identify scenarios requiring consultation with Legal or Data Protection teams.
- Convert legal language into clear technical requirements and assurance logic.
- Maintain and evolve a Privacy Assurance Toolkit with tests and checklists.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between various internal teams.
Requirements
- Strong technical expertise in web and mobile environments, including SDKs and encryption.
- Experience writing non-functional requirements (NFRs) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) specifications.
- Deep understanding of GDPR and related privacy regulations.
- Proven ability to lead Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) from both legal and technical perspectives.
- Experience in privacy audit and assurance, assessing vendor claims.
- Skilled in managing relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
