Overview
As a Consultant Civil Engineer, you will provide expert independent contract services for major energy development studies, focusing on green hydrogen and carbon capture projects. Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, you will apply your civil and geotechnical engineering expertise to support onshore and coastal projects in the energy sector. Your role will involve contributing to early-stage engineering studies and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to early-stage multi-discipline engineering studies by providing civil and geotechnical engineering expertise.
- Perform site preparation, earthworks, and flood assessments for greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Design foundations, including shallow and piled designs, as well as drainage and jetty designs.
- Prepare and check engineering documents, specifications, and project standards.
- Conduct cost estimations for civil and geotechnical activities.
- Participate in safety reviews and technical impact assessments.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards in all designs.
Requirements
- Recognized degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification and membership with a recognized institution (CEng MICE or MIStructE).
- Experience in technical delivery of onshore projects with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Practical knowledge and experience of civil and structural design and implementation.
- Familiarity with Eurocodes and industry best practices.
- Excellent skills in report-writing, communication, and client management.
- Proficient technical design and problem-solving abilities.
- Right to work in the UK is essential.
