Overview
As a Control Engineer for 400kV operations, you will coordinate the high voltage electrical installations associated with wind turbine generators and substations, both offshore and onshore. You will work collaboratively with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager and various teams to ensure the safety and integrity of electrical operations while adhering to compliance and quality standards. Your role will focus on managing electrical safety procedures and overseeing HV/MV/LV commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate LV/MV/HV operations to ensure effective management of electrical activities.
- Advise on high voltage electrical installations related to wind turbine generators and associated cabling.
- Plan and monitor switching activities across both offshore and onshore sites.
- Ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Rules and manage safety documentation.
- Oversee the commissioning processes for grid connections and substations.
- Conduct QA assessments per ISO requirements and review scope of work for electrical systems.
- Provide technical support and training for related staff and assist various departments as needed.
- Manage outages effectively and oversee network control during operational activities.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in operation and commissioning within high voltage electrical fields, preferably offshore.
- Relevant electrical qualification related to high voltage operations.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with onshore substation systems.
- Strong knowledge of 50Hz and 60Hz standards for electrical equipment.
- Experience with safety coordination around electrical operations.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and commercial issues effectively.
- Familiarity with project management and coordination in electrical commissioning activities.
- Proven track record of adhering to electrical safety compliance regulations.
