Overview
The Cost Controller will play a critical role in supporting one of the largest offshore wind projects in the UK, collaborating closely with Project Management and Finance teams. This position involves maintaining and updating project cost forecasts, monitoring financial implications of scope changes, and ensuring alignment of costs with approved budgets. The contractor will also engage with various stakeholders to enhance communication around financial matters related to the project.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project cost forecasts and cash flow profiles.
- Monitor and analyze cost impacts of scope changes and change requests.
- Ensure alignment of cost control and forecasting activities with approved budgets and schedules.
- Assist with monthly financial controlling cycles, including accrual preparation and cost analysis.
- Support the preparation of monthly actuals reporting and reconciliation of cash movements.
- Assist in project financing activities, including monitoring of project bank accounts.
- Support the preparation of valuation inputs for asset divestment and regulatory processes.
- Act as an interface between Project Finance, Commercial, and Project Delivery teams to support cost tracking and stakeholder communication.
Requirements
- Experience in project finance, cost control, financial analysis, or project controls within relevant sectors.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Ability to analyze financial data and manage cost tracking effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are a plus.
- Experience in the energy, utilities, or offshore wind sector is desirable.
