Overview
The Project Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering digital transformation projects by developing and maintaining cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This contract position involves collaboration with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to drive cost efficiency and financial performance on behalf of an engaging client. The contractor will be required to work on-site two days a week in Bristol or Andover, UK, and must hold active SC Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for all phases of projects.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
- Implement cost control measures to effectively manage financial performance.
- Generate detailed cost reports and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and analyze cost risks and variances, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to defence financial regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CCP, PMP, or AACE are advantageous.
- Proven experience in cost engineering or financial management within defence or aerospace sectors.
- Familiarity with defence-specific cost management standards and practices.
- Proficiency in cost estimation tools and financial analysis techniques.
