Overview

We are looking for an experienced Customer Data Architect to lead the architecture of customer data transformation initiatives within strategic transformation programmes. This role involves collaborating with both business and technology stakeholders to design and implement customer data architectures that align with the enterprise strategy. The successful candidate will provide hands-on architecture delivery while also guiding teams through discovery, design, and implementation phases of projects in a hybrid working environment, requiring occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Own architecture direction across customer data transformation initiatives.
  • Define current-state and target-state customer architecture.
  • Design approaches for customer data consolidation and improved customer insights.
  • Support the development of customer data models and ownership principles.
  • Work closely with data governance, data engineering, CRM, marketing, product, and technology teams.
  • Define architectural options, recommendations, and key decisions.
  • Support roadmap development and phased implementation planning.
  • Establish architecture governance across the programme and wider customer domain.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and implementing Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).
  • Strong understanding of customer-centric data architectures and retail business capabilities.
  • Experience with CRM ecosystems and customer technology platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Experience supporting procurement and technology selection processes, including RFI and RFP.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work across complex transformation programmes.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and delivery-focused approach.
