Overview

We are looking for a skilled Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to join a major embedded systems programme. The contractor will engage in cybersecurity engineering activities across complex vehicle platforms, ensuring adherence to industry standards in a regulated environment. Collaboration with engineering, software, and systems teams will be essential to support program delivery and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) for embedded systems and electronic control units.
  • Define and document cybersecurity requirements and technical specifications.
  • Produce high-quality engineering documentation to support compliance and assurance activities.
  • Define cryptographic service requirements for embedded platforms.
  • Support cybersecurity activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering, software, and systems teams across multiple locations.
  • Contribute to programme delivery, ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timescales.
  • Support technical reviews, audits, and cybersecurity governance activities.

Requirements

  • Strong experience within automotive or embedded systems cybersecurity engineering.
  • Working knowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience performing Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA).
  • Strong understanding of embedded system architectures and vehicle communication networks.
  • Experience defining cybersecurity requirements and security controls.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Experience working across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
