Overview
The Data Analyst / Data Modeler will contribute to a significant data initiative within a leading pet insurance and veterinary services organization, focusing on adapting a pre-built US veterinary ontology for the UK market. Working remotely, the contractor will analyze veterinary datasets and bridge the gap between technical teams and veterinary experts, playing a crucial role in shaping the organization's data strategy in the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Deep-dive into complex graph-based veterinary datasets.
- Analyze and validate the mapping of US ontology to UK requirements.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and localization needs in the data.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and veterinary experts from both the UK and US.
- Perform semantic and search-based analysis across graph and relational data.
- Support data modeling decisions that influence future data architecture.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on data analysis skills.
- Experience with Neo4j and graph databases.
- Solid understanding of ontologies, taxonomies, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical information to clinical audiences.
- Comfortable diving into unfamiliar domains, particularly in medical or veterinary fields.
- Experience with Cypher, GraphQL, or similar technologies is a plus.
- Exposure to medical, pharmaceutical, or insurance data is a bonus.
