Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to collaborate on a remote UK public sector project over a six-month contract period. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to analyze complex data sets, develop visual insights, and provide actionable recommendations that support decision-making processes. This role emphasizes the translation of raw data into valuable information while ensuring data integrity and adherence to governance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and manage data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Perform data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports using BI/analytics tools.
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance, and alignment with governance and security standards.
  • Produce clear, visually compelling insights for non-technical audiences and decision-makers.
  • Support data structuring and organization across systems and connected platforms.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical capability with proven experience interpreting complex data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, translating data into clear insights.
  • High attention to detail with strong data quality and validation discipline.
  • Experience with reporting and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Excel BI.
  • Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis or automation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling, forecasting, or predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure data services, SQL, or cloud-based data stacks is beneficial.
  • Understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, and large-volume data handling is preferred.
