Overview
In this role, the Data Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering an advanced Azure-based data platform for a major public sector programme. The contractor will collaborate closely with both technical and business stakeholders to develop scalable data solutions, while also supporting Data Engineers and ensuring compliance with data governance standards. This position is fully remote for candidates based in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Shape and evolve the organisation's data architecture.
- Support Data Engineers with Azure, Databricks, and data platform integrations.
- Develop data governance frameworks and ensure high-quality documentation.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Architect in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Azure, Databricks, and Lakehouse architecture.
- Knowledge of data modelling, governance, and architecture best practices.
- Experience supporting data engineering teams and modern data platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working on UK Public Sector projects or within Government environments is desirable.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) is required.
