Data Architect

Overview

The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of a modern data platform as part of a significant public sector programme. Collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, the contractor will ensure strong data governance and support data engineers in optimizing data flows using Azure and Databricks. This position aims to enhance the organization's data architecture and enable effective data management processes.

Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Shape and evolve the organization’s data architecture.
• Support Data Engineers with Azure and Databricks data flows.
• Ensure strong data governance, documentation, and standards.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in Azure and Databricks alongside Lakehouse architecture.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and data governance principles.
• Experience in delivery-focused, multi-team environments.
• Familiarity with UK Public Sector projects is desirable but not mandatory.
