Overview

This role involves working as a Geospatial Data Architect to define and govern data architecture for a high-profile public sector client's geospatial and land data ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with platform architects and stakeholders to ensure quality and interoperability of spatial data in a modern, cloud-enabled environment, shaping how data is managed and integrated across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document conceptual, logical, and physical data models for geospatial and land data domains using EA Sparx.
  • Establish data standards, attribute schemas, and metadata frameworks to promote consistency across spatial frameworks.
  • Design data management solutions that support both batch and streaming processes.
  • Conduct gap analysis between existing datasets and future platform requirements.
  • Define and validate integration points, APIs, and interoperability standards between systems.
  • Evaluate data licensing, ownership, and contractual constraints for data reuse and publication.
  • Assess data governance and stewardship maturity, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation for the as-is and to-be data landscape, model definitions, and governance structures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect in geospatial or land data environments, preferably in the public sector.
  • Expertise in using EA Sparx for data modeling and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata standards, including ISO 19115, INSPIRE, and GEMINI.
  • Understanding of coordinate reference systems, topology, and geometry validation.
  • Experience in conducting data quality, completeness, and consistency assessments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to bridge technical and policy domains.
