Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Business Analyst to join a dynamic team focused on enhancing enterprise data capabilities. This role will serve as a crucial liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data models align with business reporting and analytics needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders while engaging in data modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and translate business requirements into detailed data requirements, including source-to-target mappings and data models.
- Collaborate with data architects and engineers to enhance dimensional data models using star and snowflake schemas.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation for the data warehouse, including ERDs and data dictionaries.
- Analyze source systems to evaluate data quality, lineage, and perform impact analysis for changes.
- Validate data models and warehouse structures against business requirements through testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Partner with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize requirements and manage the delivery backlog.
- Identify opportunities to improve data models and recommend best practices for data governance.
- Support the definition of business rules and reporting requirements for enterprise data usage.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, including dimensional modeling and normalization.
- Extensive experience in data modeling using industry-standard tools.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, and validation.
- Proven experience in gathering and documenting business and data requirements.
- Experience producing source-to-target mappings and functional specifications.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in Agile environments, including user story creation and UAT support.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake and ETL/ELT frameworks.
