Overview
The Data Engineer will join a leading financial services client on a 3-month initial contract, primarily working remotely with occasional on-site visits. The role focuses on translating strategic business objectives into scalable data solutions, engaging with stakeholders across various levels while ensuring data products yield measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of complex data products.
- Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand and clarify data requirements.
- Utilize SQL for data querying, analysis, and modeling.
- Implement data transformations and modeling using DBT.
- Manage data ingestion processes using Python.
- Establish data foundations to enable business functions to access correct data and insights.
- Contribute to cross-functional development teams and projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Expert knowledge of SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Experience with Snowflake for data warehousing.
- Proficient in using DBT for data transformations.
- Strong skills in Python for data ingestion and processing.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business needs into data solutions.
- Experience working cross-functionally in large development teams.
