Overview
We are seeking two experienced Data Migration Engineers for a 9-month remote contract focused on large-scale enterprise data migration within the UK public sector. The role will involve leading end-to-end data migration activities, working collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful transfer of data from legacy systems to a modern public safety platform while maintaining data integrity and quality throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Lead data analysis across legacy and target systems.
- Profile data and identify quality issues before migration.
- Define and validate data mappings.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and reconcile data.
- Support migration planning, execution, and validation.
- Investigate and resolve migration and data quality issues.
- Produce migration documentation, mapping specifications, and validation reports.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and customers to ensure successful migration outcomes.
Requirements
- Significant experience delivering enterprise-scale data migration projects from planning through to delivery.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Experience with data mapping, migration planning, and data quality assessment.
- Familiarity with legacy system migrations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated datasets.
- Current NPPV3 Clearance.
- Minimum 5 years continuous UK residency and right to work in the UK.
