The Contract Data Governance Business Analyst will contribute to a specialized data governance initiative within the social housing sector. The role involves analyzing housing-related data entities and mapping their interactions across various systems and processes, collaborating closely with stakeholders in data, technology, and business to enhance data ownership and quality controls. The contractor will play a critical role in improving data lifecycle management across core operational platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a CRUD matrix for key housing data entities, including tenants, properties, and compliance data.
  • Map data entities to core systems, integrations, and user roles.
  • Identify data ownership and stewardship responsibilities within the organization.
  • Highlight data quality issues and recommend solutions to eliminate duplication and control gaps.
  • Support the development of data governance artifacts, such as data dictionaries and quality rules.
  • Facilitate workshops with business, technical, and operational stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data flows into accessible documentation for stakeholders.
  • Deliver structured outputs within tight timelines.

Requirements

  • Recent experience in the social housing sector.
  • Strong background in data-focused business analysis.
  • Experience with data governance, quality, migration, or lifecycle projects.
  • Proven ability to produce CRUD matrices and data flow diagrams.
  • Knowledge of housing data related to tenants, properties, and compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with mapping tools and structured datasets.
  • Understanding of relational databases, schemas, or SQL is a plus.
