Overview
The Data Lead will play a crucial role in facilitating the transformation of a major data platform for a leading Private Equity firm. Working closely with the Head of Technology, this position involves both technical leadership and hands-on involvement in the migration from a legacy SQL infrastructure to a modern, cloud-based system. The contractor will collaborate with various technology teams and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of the cloud data platform transformation.
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and data models.
- Drive the migration from a legacy SQL environment.
- Promote engineering best practices and ensure data quality.
- Collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver key programme milestones.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks, dbt, Fivetran, and SQL.
- Proven experience in delivering cloud data platform or migration programmes.
- Strong technical leadership capability with a hands-on approach.
- Experience with GitHub and CI/CD is beneficial.
- Private Equity or Financial Services experience is advantageous.
