The Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for establishing and managing a robust data platform for a large regulated organization undergoing modernization of its data estate. Collaborating closely with architects and data engineers, this contractor will ensure the platform is built on Snowflake and AWS, utilizing OpenShift to maintain reliability and security. The role emphasizes an infrastructure-as-code approach and includes a strong focus on CI/CD practices tailored for data workflows, along with the integration of AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate the Snowflake platform on AWS, utilizing OpenShift.
  • Own and manage CI/CD processes for data, including deployment pipelines and environments.
  • Ensure the platform maintains reliability, observability, and security.
  • Collaborate with architects and data engineers to implement design into a functional platform.
  • Automate repetitive tasks with an infrastructure-as-code mindset.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows to enhance productivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with the Snowflake platform beyond basic querying.
  • Strong background in AWS and container technologies, specifically OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD processes for data workloads.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code methodologies and automation practices.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience in regulated environments or financial services is a plus.
