Overview
We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer on a contract basis to build and operate a data platform using Snowflake on AWS within a large regulated organization. This role will involve collaborating with architects and data engineers to ensure the reliability, observability, and security of the data platform while implementing CI/CD pipelines. The position offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in modernizing the data estate of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate the Snowflake platform on AWS running on OpenShift.
- Own CI/CD for data, including deployment pipelines and environments.
- Implement infrastructure as code to maintain a reliable and secure platform.
- Collaborate with architects and data engineers to translate designs into functional platforms.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools in the daily workflow.
- Automate repetitive tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience with the Snowflake platform beyond basic querying.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and containerization, preferably with OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD methodologies applied to data workloads.
- Familiarity with an infrastructure-as-code approach.
- Experience or comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Experience within a regulated or financial services setting is a plus.
