Overview
This contract position for a Data Scientist is focused on advancing data and machine learning solutions within a remote working environment for candidates based in the EU or UK. The successful contractor will engage in developing production-grade data solutions, leveraging Microsoft Fabric and related tools, while contributing to the maintenance and alignment of business ontologies with Power BI models.
Responsibilities
- Develop production-grade data and machine learning solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Design, build, and publish Fabric Data Agents while ensuring compliance with data permissions.
- Build and maintain ontologies that define business entities and relationships in alignment with Power BI semantic models.
- Implement and support analytical solutions utilizing Power BI and Fabric capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data governance and lineage practices are adhered to.
- Conduct testing, versioning, and governance of ontologies in a production infrastructure environment.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics engineering, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake and Data Warehouses.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with familiarity in semantic modeling concepts.
- Experience with building and maintaining business ontologies for Power BI models.
- Understanding of data governance and permissions-aware access in enterprise contexts.
- Knowledge of Fabric Real-Time Intelligence and event-driven architectures is preferred.
- Experience with versioning and testing ontologies in relation to data pipelines.
