Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer specializing in Cooling Systems to contribute to the design and development of cooling system components for high-performance automotive applications. The successful candidate will engage throughout the product development lifecycle while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and practices. Collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure manufacturability and efficient integration of components into vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ESS expansion tanks, cooling hoses, and related components.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA V5/V6.
- Apply GD&T principles in compliance with industry standards.
- Perform engineering calculations for bolt strength and component volumes.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and interface assessments.
- Support vehicle and powertrain integration and resolve packaging issues.
- Prepare CAD models for CFD analysis and support DFMEA activities.
- Release engineering data through PLM/Product Data Management systems.
Requirements
- Previous experience in automotive component design and development.
- Strong knowledge of cooling systems, fluid transfer systems, and battery thermal management.
- Advanced skills in CATIA V5/V6 for CAD modeling and drawing.
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFM principles.
- Experience supporting DFMEA activities and engineering release processes.
- Ability to perform mechanical calculations and engineering analysis.
- Experience in vehicle packaging and cross-functional collaboration.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields is preferred.
