Overview
We are seeking a Senior AWS Platform Engineer to support the development of a multi-million-pound AI platform for a FTSE100 Investment Management firm. This role focuses on shaping the AWS infrastructure that engineering teams will use, emphasizing DevOps automation and building the foundational capabilities required for AI-enabled product deployment. The contractor will collaborate with various teams to design and enhance the AWS platform's resilience, security, and scalability, with the potential for long-term engagement on a greenfield project.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve AWS platform foundations including multi-account architecture and landing zones.
- Drive platform design standards and promote best practices for service development and operations.
- Enforce automation, reliability, and cost optimization principles across infrastructure, pipelines, and policy.
- Mentor engineers and influence the technical direction of cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on AWS expertise at the platform level, with experience building multi-account environments and landing zones.
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Terraform, and strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation.
- Expertise in CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of cloud security practices and compliance standards in regulated environments.
- Track record of designing scalable and resilient AWS solutions in enterprise settings.
